Popinjay is a friendly bird. He likes to play games and have fun. He’s brightly-coloured and likes being the centre of attention. Do you know anyone like that? Do you know anyone who is not like that at all?

How would you describe yourself? What sort of clothes do you like to wear? What sort of things do you like to do? What makes you happy? What makes you nervous?

In the play Popinjay shows Pamina the way to the forest. If you had a Popinjay to take you somewhere, where would you like to go? It could be a real place or an imaginary one. Why do you ant to go there?

Why not write a letter from this place, telling people back home all about it.

Or, imagine you have just arrived and you meet someone who lives there. You could act out the meeting. Are they pleased to see you or not?
